BJF Paralympic Program

Our Paralympic program, led by Coach Willy Cahill, supports blind judokas competing nationally and internationally on their way to the Paralympic Games.

Unlike other Paralympic candidates, blind judokas often train alongside, and must defeat, sighted athletes, in order to qualify for the Paralympic Games. Our athletes on the US Paralympic Judo Team have consistently won medals since 2000:

  • Sydney’s 2000 Paralympic Games – Won Gold, Silver and Bronze
  • Athens’ 2004 Paralympic Games – Won Silver and Bronze
  • Beijing’s 2008 Paralympic Games – Won Bronze
  • London’s 2012 Paralympic Games – Won Silver and Bronze

You can learn more about our Paralympic athletes on YouTube and in the news.

As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit, the Blind Judo Foundation relies solely on donations.
